Development history

Developed in 2006 within the Philadelphia program and refined internally since. It has remained an AREOLA instrument rather than a commercial product, and is not supplied outside the institute.

Clinical use

Used by AREOLA surgical teams as part of established workflows. Training on the instrument is limited to qualified AREOLA personnel and is not part of Visiting Surgeon or Clinical Observation programs.

Held under Surgical Innovation. Documentation is internal, and public materials describe purpose and governance only.

AREOLA publishes purpose, governance and patient experience for its clinical technology. Construction drawings, manufacturing specifications, operational parameters and procedural instructions are not published.
