About this page

What this page is.

A general orientation to how the plate families differ. It organizes starting points for a conversation; it does not recommend a system, and no comparison table can establish what is appropriate for an individual plan.

01

What actually narrows the options

Available tissue, prior surgery, skin quality and the attachment method constrain material and profile before preference enters the discussion. A Clinical Plate Design Specialist works within the range the clinical plan permits rather than the full portfolio.

02

How to read the differences

Material sets the colour, weight and long-term surface behaviour. Profile determines visibility and how the plate interacts with clothing and equipment. Attachment determines whether the result is fixed or interchangeable. Finish is the only one of the four that can be changed relatively easily later.

03

The conversation this leads to

Patients who arrive able to describe what they want the result to do — how visible, how durable, how much attention they are willing to give it — get further in a first design conversation than patients who arrive with a model name.
