This policy describes the public AREOLA website. Information held in the course of care is governed separately by the institute's patient privacy practices, which are provided to patients directly and are not summarized here.

Information collected on this site

The site records ordinary technical information needed to serve pages. Pages that provide planning tools are designed not to collect names, medical records, symptoms or other sensitive health information.

How information is used

Website information is used to operate and improve the site and to respond to inquiries that visitors initiate. AREOLA does not sell website information, and does not use it to make clinical or financial determinations about anyone.

Analytics and cookies

AREOLA uses Google Analytics to understand how the public website is used. This service places cookies in the visitor's browser and records technical information including IP address, approximate location, referring page, device and browser. It is used only in aggregate, to see which pages are read and how people move through the site. It is never combined with anything a visitor types, and no page on this site asks for health information in the first place. Visitors who prefer not to be measured can block the service through browser settings or an extension; the site works identically either way.

Questions and requests

Privacy questions relating to the website may be directed to the Office of Legal & Compliance through National Patient Services. Requests concerning a patient record are handled by Medical Records Intake rather than through this policy.
