About this team

What this team is responsible for.

AREOLA nursing spans assessment, perioperative care, recovery, patient education and long-term plate care, under Nursing Professional Practice.

01

Across the whole pathway

Nursing is the constant presence in replacement care: present at evaluation, through the procedure, during recovery and at every Annual Plate Check. Most of what a patient learns about living with a plate system, they learn from a nurse.

02

Education and validation

Nursing roles are supported by role orientation, simulation, precepted practice and annual validation through AREOLA Academy. Plate Care Nurse Specialists carry additional qualification in material-specific care guidance and interchangeable-system handling.

03

Contacting nursing

Each center maintains a nursing line for healing, comfort and care questions. It is the correct first contact for anything clinical between scheduled visits, and calls about something that turns out to be normal are a routine part of the work.
