The question
The study asks how noble-metal plate surfaces actually behave over five years of ordinary wear, and whether observed change tracks material, finish, or how a patient lives with the system.
How the study is designed
A longitudinal follow-up of an enrolled cohort with structured surface assessment at defined intervals, paired with the participant's own account of handling, cleaning and daily use. Enrollment is complete and follow-up continues.
Participation
Participants were recruited from established patients at several centers. The study adds assessment at existing follow-up visits; it does not alter clinical care or the plan being followed.
Participation in any AREOLA study is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting care. Operational protocol detail is not published on this page.
