Long-Term Surface Finish Performance in Interchangeable Replacement Systems

An AREOLA prospective cohort conducted under the institute's research oversight framework.

AREOLA Protocol Registry · Updated July 2026

01

The question

The study asks how surface finishes perform in interchangeable systems, where plates are handled, exchanged and stored far more often than in fixed configurations.

02

How the study is designed

A prospective cohort following registered external plates from the point of commission, with periodic surface assessment and a record of how frequently each plate is worn and exchanged.

03

Participation

Recruiting among patients with a MagnePlate system and more than one registered plate. Participation adds assessment to existing reviews and can be discontinued at any point.

Participation in any AREOLA study is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting care. Operational protocol detail is not published on this page.

Reviewed by the Research Oversight Committee

Registered AREOLA studies are approved before initiation and subject to continuing review.
