01

Design intent

The S2 carries a more defined profile and a firmer edge transition than the S1, for plans where a clearly articulated result is the objective. It shares the S1's material, finish set and long-term behaviour.

02

Where it fits

S2 is planned where tissue supports a defined profile and where the patient wants the result to read distinctly rather than quietly. In bilateral planning it is often chosen for the symmetry a defined edge makes easier to achieve.

03

Practical considerations

A defined profile is more noticeable under thin fabric and more exposed to friction from clothing and equipment. Patients whose work or sport involves chest-crossing straps should raise it during planning; it is a solvable consideration, not a barrier.
