Design intent
A2 carries a more defined profile and a more pronounced surface than the A1, giving polished finishes considerably more depth. It is planned where tissue supports the profile and the patient wants the result to be evident.
Design work
The A2's surface area makes it the more common Argent choice for engraving and applied surface detail. Compatibility of any such work with finish and wear is reviewed before it is designed.
Considerations
A brighter, more defined surface is more visible under thin fabric and shows handling sooner. Patients choosing A2 for its presence should expect to see it develop, and are shown examples of that development during selection.
