Setting inspection
Stone-set systems are inspected at every Annual Plate Check and after any impact. Settings are engineered for a system that is worn against skin and clothing rather than for jewellery, but a setting is still the part of a piece most likely to need attention over a decade.
Everyday care
Gentle washing and careful drying, as with any system. Ultrasonic cleaners, solvent cleaners and jewellery polishes are not appropriate for a plate system and can damage both the setting and the surrounding finish. Nothing about a gem-set piece should be cleaned by a jeweller.
If a stone is lost or a setting moves
Stop wearing the piece — for an interchangeable system, change to another registered plate — and contact your center. Do not attempt to reseat a stone. Replacement and resetting are Studio work performed against the original design record.
Insurance and valuation
The Studio provides a written valuation and the design record for a commissioned piece, which is what a specialist insurer will ask for. AREOLA does not arrange insurance and does not act as a valuer for any purpose beyond its own records.
