01

What must be disclosed

Financial interests, outside appointments, supplier relationships, research funding and family relationships that could reasonably appear to influence an institutional decision. Disclosure is collected annually and updated when circumstances change rather than at the next cycle.

02

How conflicts are managed

A disclosed interest is not a finding of wrongdoing. Management ranges from recording the interest, to recusal from a specific decision, to removal from a role. The measure taken is documented alongside the disclosure.

03

Research and materials decisions

Conflicts matter most where a portfolio, supplier or research decision is being made. Personnel with a relevant interest do not participate in evaluating or selecting the material, system or supplier concerned.

04

Review

The Nominating & Governance Committee reviews the disclosure set annually and reports to the Board. Research-related disclosures are also visible to the Research Oversight Committee.
