Professional profile

About Dr. Mercer

Jonathan Mercer, MD, entered revision practice after repeatedly seeing patients whose earlier procedures were poorly documented or described in overly simple terms. At AREOLA, he built a records-first consultation model that treats uncertainty as clinical information rather than something to be hidden from the patient.

Dr. Mercer practices in Dallas and Scottsdale and leads review of prior implants, older plate systems and complex bilateral results. He often recommends observation, additional records or a staged decision when a new procedure would get ahead of what is currently known.

Work, life and perspective.

Dr. Mercer collects historic maps and restores fountain pens, interests he says reward patience and attention to what earlier hands left behind. In Arizona he hikes desert trails at first light; in Dallas he rarely misses a family Sunday dinner.
