01

Begin with the existing system

Previous Implant Revision starts by identifying what is currently present, why the patient is seeking review and what is known about the earlier procedure. The team does not assume that removal or conversion is necessary.

02

Records and device information

Operative summaries, implant cards, plate registrations, design records and relevant follow-up can clarify the prior plan. When documents are unavailable, AREOLA explains what can and cannot be concluded from the current evaluation.

03

Reasons for seeking revision

Patients may be concerned about appearance, comfort, position, surface condition, maintenance, compatibility or an aging system. More than one concern can be addressed in the same review.

04

Observation, revision or conversion

Possible recommendations may include continued monitoring, care guidance, focused revision, replacement with another fixed system or consideration of a registered interchangeable platform. The available choices depend on the individual history.

05

Coordinating complex expertise

Revision surgeons work with imaging, nursing, materials and Clinical Plate Design teams as needed. The patient receives one coordinated plan even when several specialties contribute.

06

Realistic expectations after prior care

Earlier treatment can limit predictability and affect the degree of change that is reasonable to pursue. AREOLA makes those uncertainties part of the decision rather than minimizing them in the design conversation.

07

A complete record for the future

If the system changes, AREOLA documents the revised components, retained history, new plate registration and follow-up plan. That record supports continuity if another question arises later.

Complex Revision Program

General patient information is reviewed with the relevant clinical and patient-services teams before publication.
